And when you informed Amazon that you did not receive the merchandise, how did they respond? Or did you receive the merchandise?

Has happened to us so often that we have things delivered to the UPS store closest to us. Check it out, saves a lot of headaches.

I usually don't order from Amazon. Though I did have to buy from them this Christmas. Package arrived on time and at right address. But they lumped a bunch of items in one package and it was totally unprotected. A books sleeve got pretty dinged up. Amazing coming from a place known for selling and shipping books!

henry, is the problem with USPS, UPS or Fedex? That is unless you have Amazon delivery. When we have had this issue and it is rare, it's been with the USPS substitute driver. Just last week we ended up with our neighbor's mail. Turns out the driver was in a hurry and was off by one house.

If it is the Amazon direct delivery, then I'm sure it must be frustrating.

Hi edwzoomom! It is the Amazon direct delivery.

I experienced one incident where the Amazon envelope was on my porch, but the content, an SSD, was missing, and the package had been torn open. My suspicion, unprovable, was that the Prime driver did this in his car before dropping off the empty package, that way he can appear to make the delivery and claim it was stolen after he dropped it off. What thief stands on a porch looking in packages before they steal the content? I have also seen Amazon deliveries show up on my porch for my neighbors, several times. I just walk it down the block to them. I have been moving over to sending all the deliveries to a Amazon locker down the street, it works pretty well, more secure.

Well, I experience such problems every so often. Don't know why actually, but delays aren't rare for me. Maybe it's just issues of local postal services in my zip code https://worldpostalcode.com/united-states/georgia/atlanta but I got used to it.

I've had the same problem lately with EBAY.
I just figured it was because of the crazy weather we're having these days.

Recently I've more and more had the problem where they say "Delivery was attempted" and then either drop it at some pick up location or wait a few days to re-attempt. I wish there was a way to report blatant lies because you sure as heck didn't attempt delivery very hard seeing as I was at home with my phone on at the time you report you couldn't deliver the thing.

You'd be surprised how blatant people are now days, I can well believe someone walking up too a parcel sitting-down & carefully unwrapping it like they own the property then just causally walk-off, seen it happen too a neighbour, I gave chase casual thief ended up dropping it - Amazon are stupid though for leaving it in the mail-box. I have mine delivered too work.

We live in an area with regular package thieves. So far we haven't had anything stolen that I'm aware of (other than several Netflix DVDs that disappear for long periods, but I doubt any thief is interested in watching Monsieur Hulot's Holiday or How The West Was Won.)

Amazon has started to take pictures of the package sitting on our doorstep. I imagine this new policy negates our ability to get a replacement sent. I mean, it's fair enough, I just don't like it smile

(I suppose people could also be making false claims, and Amazon needs to be more proactive at protecting themselves.)

Last week, a pkg was delivered in the rain. The driver put it on the front step and I immediately went out to get it. It was soaked and soggy, with new dry tape loosely applied to hold the box closed. The item inside was also wet. I can't even imagine how this happened.
