VARESE just dropped this on their website

https://www.varesesarabande.com/products/other-side-of-the-mountain-part-2

Our next limited edition release is the debut CD release of the soundtrack for The Other Side Of The Mountain Part 2, by multiple award winning composer Lee Holdridge. The film was the sequel to the successful 1975 box office hit, The Other Side Of The Mountain. The score features a beautiful love theme, which is heard in variations throughout the album, as well as in two songs sung by Merrily Webber (arranged by the composer). The album was transferred from analog tape from the composer’s archive. Fans have requested this score for years.

Limited edition of 1,500 copies

This is a great score that has long deserved a CD release - just a big, beautiful, emotional, thematic score for a '70s romantic drama. I love Holdridge.

I am so excited about this! It is such a beautiful score with a beautiful love theme.

Several years ago I transferred the LP of both "The Other Side of the Mountain" Part 1 (Charles Fox) and Part 2 to mp3. A couple of days later I was sitting at a Coffee Bean in West Hollywood listening to the scores on my iPod. All of a sudden Marilyn Hassett (Jill Kinmont in the films) walks in a joins a group of friends at the table next to me. It was a good day!

An excellent Lee Holdridge score, he has such a gift for melody. Glad to see this score now available on CD.

Ford, any chance for Lee's very fine score to MUSTANG COUNTRY?

This is one we might have expected to see from the Universal/La-La Land deal. And apparently even the Universal Music Group isn't involved. Have both the original tracks and MCA's album master been lost?

Haha, thanks Graham.
Yes indeedy. Any new CD releases of Lee Holdridge scores are welcome in my abode.
I have the old LP and spun it often.
Some lovely, sweet, 70's romantic scoring in this one.
I love the cheesy 'snog' songs too!
Here's hoping some Gil Meleeeee is coming your way (soon), Graham.

Boy, I hope this means that Charles Fox's score for the first part is not far behind. It was such a favorite in my early years of collecting - the soundtrack for many an hour of teenage angst.

Weirdly, even though I read the book, I never saw part 2 so don't know this score. But I love Holdridge....

I dunno James, just weeks after getting the terrific and unforeseen releases of Williams' Dracula and Grusin's Murder by Death, I'm going to just keep hoping....and in the meantime, enjoying this one.

Well those releases didn't have an Olivia Newton-John song to deal with. Depends on if Varese is able to license that from UMG and what the cost would be.
