Basil, as I wrote in a Facebook post, how can I ever adequately thank someone for making one of my deepest dreams come true? Once upon a time, discussing 20th Century Fox scores, I told Nick of my lifelong love of O. HENRY'S FULL HOUSE by the celebrated Alfred Newman and the totally obscure THE LUCK OF THE IRISH by Newman's unsung and all-but-forgotten collaborator, Mr. Mockridge. I always thought the two soundtracks would complement each other on an album, even if I would probably be the only one to buy a copy. (Certainly I would be the only one who'd ever heard or heard of the Mockridge LUCK.) Imagine the joy of my surprise some years later when Nick told me that he'd suggested my two holy grails to Bruce Kimmel for a Kritzerland CD, and would I be interested in writing the liner notes? Wherever Nick is now, I'm sure his heart is warmed to know that you hear and appreciate the beauty of LUCK OF THE IRISH. I know my own heart is warmed by the knowledge, just as it will always be warmed and grateful for having been befriended by this beautiful and remarkable man.

I wasn't aware that Jon Burlingame had written an obituary. So, rather than the assumption inherent in your comment, perhaps it would have been more apposite to ask if I was aware that one had been written.
I shall be sure to take a look at it.
