This film releases in the USA on February 8, 2019. I'm a big fan of composer Roc Chen's work on the two food series in China called A BITE OF CHINA, and his music to the Chinese series Red Sorghum. He recently tweeted that he's finished work on the production.
This looks like a huge production, based on a book of the same name by Ciu Lixin (known for The Three Body Problem).
Really looking forward to hear Chen's take on Sci-fi.
Apparently this is the end credits theme for the film by the composer according to YouTube user PX5876. Reminds me a bit of Transformers, lots of electronic flavour.
I've heard some things about this score; that it apparently copies directly from some recent Zimmer scores, like INTERSTELLAR and THE DARK KNIGHT. I mean lawsuit-type copying. Would be curious to hear it for myself when it becomes available.
Interesting, I really hope that's not the case. I asked the composer on twitter if there will be a soundtrack release, will report back if I get a response.
Looks like a big silly fun ride. Looking forward to hearing the score.
What the heck is a gravitational spike?
All kidding aside, I think the movie involves a scene or situation where the Earth getting caught up in the planet Jupiter's gravity. It probably snuck up on them, hence the spike.
Netflix bought the rights to this film recently, so I will watch it once it starts streaming.
if you're lucky enough to hear the soundtrack, just compare following cues:
2. The Disaster and Project Wandering Earth starts at 01:37 vs. "Rise" from TDKR 6. A Wish During Spacewalk vs. "Coward" "No Time for Caution" from Interstellar and "A Long Way Back" from Life 15. The Earth Engine vs. "What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World" from MOS 18. Earth out of Control vs. "Arcade" from MOS 43. Live On, This Is an Order vs. "If You Love These People" from MOS 11. New Journey vs. “Be Here Now” from Hybrid
I think you'll be suprised to hear they contain the similar structure, similar key, similar rythm, similar BPM, similar arrangment, similar melody and similar musical source, enjoy!
