Hmm, that's an interesting tracklist. There's certainly stuff on Disc 3 and 4 that are worthy of inclusion in a '2-disc definitive' edition. But tricky fitting everything in isn't it! I must say I enjoy the flow of discs 1 & 2, but I listened to disc 3 today and yeah, there's some other stuff on there... its funny, while that's the 'proper' or 'official' OST that I listened to for years, after listening to the original score it really sounds like a disc of alternates and suites, and stuff obviously not in the movie, making it really feel like, well, a disc 3 in an expanded La La set, you know, an 'extras' disc. Its weird. Wow. Everytime I look at this TRL set I have a 'pinch me' moment. Its so great. Can't believe it isn't sold out already. I know it's expensive, but some people think Zimmer is some kind of musical God, so I'd have thought anything with his name on would sell, especially his greatest opus. Go figure.

I'm working on version that interpolated d.3 and 4 into one semi- chronological. 2 disc. Program. I think I have played the score CDs every weekend since I received it!

What a fantastic release! I’m so thankful to not only have the full score as recorded for the film, but a better quality version of the soundtrack album as well. Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to make the release possible! Did you do an A and B comparison of the two releases? What did you hear that differentiated them?

Somewhere in my house I have this beautiful set and I can't find it anywhere. I never properly backed it up to my laptop for some reason. That's the first thing I do whenever I get a new score is rip it to my laptop. I didn't do that and then got lost in my busy schedule of full time work and full time school. I'm currently kicking myself right now fearing that it somehow ended up being put into the trash by someone else in the household on a cleaning frenzy. I have not done this with any other score before. This stinks folks. I've been searching for it for sometime now.

Peter, that sounds like an absolute nightmare (although I know what it's like for books and CDs to go AWOL). Hope it turns up soon. If it's any consolation, I know EXACTLY where my copy of TRL is. That beauty is going nowhere. It is consolation my friend! It is a wonderful score. My consolation is that it’s only temporarily out of stock which means I will have another attempt at it eventually if it doesn’t turn up.

Hi guys. I’m revisting the entire set (one of my favorite all time scores, and certainly my Zimmer’s favorite) After getting a more analytical headphones than I’m used to, the differences between the filmscore an the album are now more evident. One of the first things I noticed is how the film score sounds a bit dryer compared to a more “liquid” quality of the album. Not that is bad vs good, just different. Of course as many have noted all are different versions with different edits. One in particular that caught my attention is the ‘Journey to the Line’ piece. I first thought something was wrong with the bass performance of my headphones, until I tried some other headphones; there are a couple of moments during the climax part of the theme where the low frequencies kind of bounces back if that makes any sense, as if it loses some resolution in that low region and the bass becomes a bit muffled for an instance and kind of bleeds over the rest of the bass and mid frequencies. Idk its weird and dont know how to explain myself, but compared to the album version that track flows perfectly, albeit less bassy. Has anyone experience that? Anyway, again its not that one is better than the other, just like there are differences indeed, not only in the edits but in the mixing as well.

So bummed I didnt buy this set when I had the chance! Hopefully it will show up again soon! I am too, Acathia. I keep a tab open on my phone to LLL’s page for it and check it almost every day. Hopefully they'll let us all know once its back. Cause that sounds exhausting! (but I know exactly how you feel! lol!) I bought it and lost my copy before I ever ripped it to my computer. I still kick myself.

Should be back in stock end of month or sometime in March. We are at the mercy of Sony and their plant in Germany MV
