What is the source?

What is the source? It's a b**tleg sourced from tapes that Barry gave to some fans. Not to change the subject, but I find this score to be one of Barry's lesser efforts - a catchy theme that wears down after a few listens and not much else. The true highlight is "Play it Again" as performed in a funky version in the film that didn't make it in the planned album. Alex Not from Boot...I believe it is from DVD Isolated Score. UK Version. SPECIAL FEATURES [] Soundtrack suite, featuring score and musical arrangements by John Barry [] Song suite, featuring music by John Barry [] Theatrical Trailer [] Image Gallery [] Archive interviews with Omar Sharif and Blake Edwards [] Film and Soundtrack Notes by Geoff Leonard and Pete Walker

A lovely theme. Very melancholy. I always amazed how short this score was when I saw this movie back in the day. Sadly the suspense piece never develops and becomes incredibly repetitive. Still a nice thing to have in good quality. That Tadlow suite is a good presentation of this score too.

I once thought highly of this score but now I see it too as a lesser JB effort - except of course for that lovely theme. I don't think we need something more than the almost 10-minute suite Nic Raine recorded for the Silva Screen ZULU album. Dude...they make medication for that recommendation! Scary

I have the UK blu-ray -- it does not have an "isolated score track" -- only the short suite of cues plus the song cues. The cues posted on youtube are not from the blu-ray.

I haven't listened to these rips and generally I don't think it's cool bootlegging material you don't own and uploading it to YouTube. But, the UK Blu-Ray contains the complete score, I don't know why people think it doesn't. OK. I just had a quick listen. That rip of the opening title music is not from the infamous cassette that went round, because the version of the main title on that cassette was an alternate version that had extra percussion. It may have been a direct rip from the film soundtrack. Cheers

I pulled out the bluray again and with some egg on my face the suite is indeed the complete score, in mono, lasting about 48 minutes -- it is a little hard to time out because it is not subdivided with a bluray menu -- but my player registers 7 chapters totaling about 48 minutes. I still don't considered it an isolated track, which to me in my idiotic mind set means a track that plays music only while you watch film the film. TTS suite is a single stand alone suite that does not play along with the film. The b**t is in stereo, as is the youtube material, so I imagine they came from the same source, and are not a rip from the blu ray since it is mono. The booklet that comes with the DVD discusses the score at length and confirms that the "suite" is the complete score. Sorry for not checking more thoroughly before posting. Lesson somewhat learned until my next mistake!

The lengthy music for the airport sequence is one of my favourite pieces of Barry music. I love this powerful, gradually developing music so much that I once recorded it directly from the movie, it just does not sound the same in the Silva recording or unmentionable recordings I have of it. What I am not clear is whether Barry recorded it in separate parts or as one long complete piece of music, it sounds like one piece of music in the movie. How does it play in the blu ray disc, as one track or different tracks?

I have been told by my sources, it is a rip of Blu Ray.. But here it is. Enjoy it..I do. I truly love the score. Blake Edwards always said he liked Barry’s style. Thank You Mrs. John Barry!
