I’ve been exploring the films of Lucio Fulci lately and just stumbled upon the fantastic thriller “The Psychic” 1977 (Setta Note in Nero)
Not only does it have a really great, tense score but the music actually plays a role in the story as well. I won’t spoil it for the uninitiated, but the score really is crucial to the final scene and is one of the best endings I’ve seen, similar to the final moments of Taking of Pelham 1-2-3.
Tarantino went on to use some of it in Kill Bill.
I just tracked down a copy from BEAT records and I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival. The one cue that really stands out is from the chase/stalking scene towards the end. Damn fine stuff. Highly recommend. There’s also a brand new Blu-ray available from Roninflix.
