The ALIEN universe is the best thing cinematic history has ever created. In the over 100 years of cinema to consider, to state a sci-fi monster series like the Alien franchise is "the best thing in cinematic history" is truly unbelievable. You've actually WATCHED films other than these, right? None of the Alien films - absolutely none of them individually or as a whole - approach the heights of greatness of films like Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Psycho, The Brothers Karamazov, Spartacus, On the Waterfront, The King and I, The Maltese Falcon, Marty, Requiem for a Heavyweight, Jaws, Raging Bull, The Wizard of Oz, or All Quiet on the Western Front. Absolutely none of them. Nobody could ever prove otherwise and I seriously doubt the filmmakers would argue. The Alien films are popcorn movies for the horror/SF crowd. And I love them! Perhaps saying it is your "favorite cinematic universe" would be more accurate.

Well Thor said (previously) Blade Runner is the greatest science fiction film ever made, not one of the best science fiction films ever made. I would say 2001, Planet of the Apes, Rollerball, Forbidden Planet, Star Trek 1 & 2, Star Wars (if you want to count that as sf) So many other sci fi films are far more iconic. Most of those films had something to say while wowing us with their audio/visuals. Blade Runner objectively is visually interesting, and has an iconic score but the story is a slog and the acting is awful. Unlike the titles I listed above BR has hardly hit a cord in pop culture. Blade Runner is absolutely a divider, I think far more people dislike it than like it, but if you start googling you will find it on a lot of important lists, just a couple here. Again, perfectly understandable if you do not enjoy it, you have a lot of company. Good discussion here https://thesouloftheplot.wordpress.com/2016/03/20/afi-top-100-discussion-blade-runner/ http://entertainment.time.com/2005/02/12/all-time-100-movies/slide/blade-runner-1982/ https://variety.com/2017/film/news/blade-runner-1982-unloved-classic-1202476755/ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/5972555/Blade-Runner-named-greatest-sci-fi-film-of-all-time.html
