Despite Mr Stamp sounding like one of Roger Hargreaves's characters (Postman Pat's nemesis?) can you spill the beans on why he sent you a postcard - and most importantly, what was the picture on the front?
Ah ha. I cannot recall the front cover. A view i think. I wrote to mr Stamp with a request for an interview for a book i was doing on someone. He wrote postcard (with the correct amount of errr... stamps!) to say he was flattered to be asked but didnt know subject well enough to speak with authority although they had spent some most enjoyable social eves together in the 60s and he wished me "good luck with the tome". Nice man.
