Hi All,

Check out a new episode of my composer interview podcast On the Score at Filmmusicmag.com as I talk to JUNKIE XL (aka Tom Holkenborg), a composer often given to brash, avenging percussion for the likes of Furiosa, Batman and Lara Croft, a genre blockbuster style that now assumes surprisingly lush symphonic armor for ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL (on Milan Records). Listen to an extensive talk as Junkie discusses treading into new sci-fi orchestral realms at:

Thanks as always for tuning into Filmmusicmag.com for the latest composer interviews and soundtrack reviews!

To my surprise, ALITA sounds... pretty good. Actual themes!

Although, I also have to admit that I liked Holkenborg´s THE DARK TOWER score which had one killer theme as well.

And listening to this new one I get the feeling that he is auditioning for Cameron´s AVATAR sequels.

You should listen Mortal Engines, in my opinion, the best from Tom.

Thanks for the advice! The samples already sound very intriguing.

Damn, maybe Holkenborg IS the future of film scoring ;-)
