Yep...someone else posted this a few months ago... hard to believe that the woman in the video was that beautiful woman back in the 60s who married Herrmann!

Yeah zooba, why's Norma all distorted and with a beard? And why the heck is she growling out the lyrics to a Goldsmith theme?

Sorry, I've amended the link. That other link was for my Fave Lyricist Post. Man I'm really losing it.

I saw a photo of her taken about 1970, she did indeed look beautiful. There's one on Google in the mid 1970's, looks great.

According to Wikipedia she married Herrmann in 1967 at age 27. This year she will be 79! Time marches on .......

Thanks for sharing this. Interesting remark Blake makes about Herrmann telling him he used 90 violins for Psycho's shower scene. He may have exaggerated but it could be true and in that case could be the reason it sounds so terrifying on the original recording (and less so on re-recordings).

Norma appeared quite a bit on British TV in the 1970s and 1980s

There is a picture of her with the other presenters of Holiday (the early 80s I think) at the bottom of the page

You can also see a wonderful new (Nov. 26th, 2018) 75 minutes interview with Norma Herrmann on the pages of the Film Music Foundation.

Scroll a bit down to "Bernard Herrmann Legacy Interviews". Some other great stuff there, too!

Blake: "Your not gonna get cooperation acting like that Benny"

Herrmann: "Don't tell me how to mange an orchestra?"

Must have missed this when it was first posted. Thanks for sharing, zooba, quite fascinating (although not a lot of new information for serious film music fans).
