What if Graeme Revell had his score to Dead Calm rejected? Or even worse not been hired at all to that movie.

If so my life would have been so totally different. That`s for sure. I would certainly not been aware of this site/forum. I would not have over 2000 soundtracks. I would not have attended any Fans of Film Music events. I would not been to any film music concerts/festivals. I would not got the chance to get to know so many wonderful friends through my passion for film scores, you all know who you are.

So thank you who ever decided to hire Graeme Revell and to stick with that score and not reject it.

...Basil Poledouris got to score Verhoeven's Crusades movie?

...Shirley Walker scored a live-action Batman movie?

...Cliff Eidelman became the go-to composer for the 'Next Generation' movies instead of Goldsmith?

....John Williams had scored the last Harry Potter installments. How dark would those scores have been? I wish.

Thank God they weren't.

...Lalo Schifrin's score for The Reivers had not been rejected? Then Spielberg would not have sought-out John Williams, would probably have asked Jerry Goldsmith to score Jaws and most of his subsequent pictures, introduced Jerry to George Lucas, which would have left Williams continuing to work with his usual collaborators, and scoring The Swarm, On Golden Pond and The Player.

John Williams a mideval (sic) knights movie

His score for LAST CRUSADE has a lot of medieval influences and overtones. And his score for AZKABAN is loaded with medieval period-style music.

...James Horner never earned his pilot's license?

Sorry. It's dark, but I really sometimes wish he hadn't.

...Jerry Goldsmith had scored An American Tail (he was asked, but was too busy circa 1985/86)? I adore James Horner's effort (and Intrada's new CD is a treasure), but with Goldsmith's Jewish heritage, it might have been quite interesting.

Jerry Goldsmith scored Schindler's list (after all, not all better composers weren't dead, this anecdote irritates me to the highest point )

Horner was also Jewish...

What if Zimmer had never taken off and we never got any of the RC clones and the film score industry used other talented composers instead? Imagine the delightful change!

No, no, we don't need a time machine to go kill Hitler, we need a time machine to make sure Has never takes off.
