Attention U.S. TCM Subscribers: There have been quite a few movies centred around boxing over the years from 1937’s Kid Galahad to 2018’s Creed II with plenty of standouts in-between such as 1956’s Somebody Up There Likes Me, 1962’s Requiem for a Heavyweight, 1972's Fat City and 1980’s Raging Bull. None of these, however, get straight to the bottomline as 1949’s knockout noir The Set-Up. Again, your review is right on the money, Arthur. This a superb little gem of a film and should not be missed. I watch it about once a year and am always amazed at how Wise can do so much with so little. Thanks so much for your positive words re my write-up and the film. They are much appreciated!
