This list, like all others, is not meant to be comprehensive, but one which elicits critical discussion among the film music community. I found it very a very fair rundown of some of my favorite Zimmer scores that show his development as a composer and maturity in the field. I am glad you covered BACKDRAFT, GLADIATOR, THE DARK KNIGHT, THE THIN RED LINE, and INTERSTELLAR, and explained the composer's musical choices and approaches to each of the scores. Can't wait to read more score breakdowns from the co-authors of this article.

Here's mine (in Norwegian), posted a few years ago. Only top 10, though, not 12:

Thank you for the very kind words. I'll be back in April.

Vikram here, and I'll second Erik, thank you for reading and the kind response! Busy with school currently but I hope to be reviewing again in June!

As a non-fan, I'd say that's a pretty good list. It would be a great one if you substituted a couple of blockbusters with PACIFIC HEIGHTS and PAPERHOUSE (or A WORLD APART). smile

The list is almost 7 years old. Certainly, if I were to update it today, with what has come out since, I would most certainly include INTERSTELLAR, and maybe also remove BLACK RAIN -- has some great cues, but the score-only release revealed flaws I didn't notice on the old OST, with the neat suites.

The titles you mention are great, but probably wouldn't make it to my own top 10.

Pretty good list!
I would have substituted TDKN for TDK and added SPIRIT
