Thanks. I think I might have figured out the problem. One speaker had the positive wire around the negative input. Seems one strand of wire inadvertently went to negative also.

I'm glad you figured it out. I have always hated speaker wire. I have a soundbar connected cleanly via an optical cable. It sounds great!
