That doesn't strike me as likely, because the majority of sales on a title happen in the first week or two. They already knew Buffy did respectable business when conversation about an Angel set began, and they could have squashed it then if they wanted to.
Or the whole Fox/Disney thing?
Seems more likely, to me. TV box sets are tricky and time-consuming to do, and it's very possible that this didn't make it far enough along in time (with X-Files Volume 4 already being ahead of it in the line).
Maybe if we're really really really good at promoting it and making it sell out?? hehe
Well I'm sure that couldn't hurt, but if it has to do with Disney's purchase of Fox then I don't think it'll matter.
Yavar
So if this is Disney's doing then I guess Intrada is the only label? And they usually dont release such tv box sets, I guess. Just seems so strange. Its only about 5-6 weeks ago they said that they had it all covered. Something must have happened just recently. And I swear to Glory (God) if this is Disney ruining yet another thing...!! lol!
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do :/
I doubt Disney actually did anything actively to kill it (like apparently they sadly did for Intrada's pursuit of a Duck Tales score release), but I'm guessing the project just became a lot more complicated and difficult at a certain point, and therefore more trouble than it was worth. But that's entirely speculation on my part. MV would have to chime in with the facts if he feels so inclined. I appreciate his frankness and honesty in informing those of us who were getting our hopes up.
Yeah, maybe I should wait for more info from MV (if he wants) before I storm the Disney castle with my group of Potentials for a battle! lol!
OR, maybe he simply just meant that it is not happening/listed "at this time" in which the time that he previosuly listen in his update? Am I clutching??
He's saying just what he said. It's not cancelled but it's not coming soon either. I'd say Yavar's guess is a pretty good bet, and few people (if anyone) knows for sure what's going to happen to future Fox titles right now.
"At this time" clearly implies it's possible later on. So I wouldn't lose hope. A successful Buffy set also helps your cause.
^ Yeah, I guess you're right. I can totally live it not being released this year. If it has been postponed. I mean, I still live so much on the Buffy Collection Vol 1! Listen to it every day.
I was just sooo hoping to finally get my hands on my holy grail cue. Which is from Angel (I Will Remember You). And of course along with soooo much great Kral music. (even Kral seemed excited about this! )
I will keep on promoting the Buffy Collection every where. (Gosh, I will probably get banned from internet soon! lol!)
How much music is missing from Stargate? The deluxe edition seems quite complete.
The Varese DE has all the best stuff...but there's still about 15mins unreleased. Mostly from the first third of the film. Who knows what alternates have never been heard? I'm excited.

I remember there are a couple of awkward cross-fades in the DE. I'll have to re listen to remind myself more precisely.

There are a couple indeed. It plays like the original album was slated to be.
Not sure if I posted this story here before, but back in 94, I called Milan records and spoke to someone (Yes...over the phone...ah, those were the days!) about the release date and sneak preview of the track list. Very friendly chap! He said the album was intially longer. Apparently they had removed a few tracks. He stated that he had a printout of an earlier track listing in hand, which would have put it over 70mins.
Even at 30 tracks, the Milan album was SOLID, with exception of the "Transporter Horror" that would later come on the DE. THAT was the cue I had most longed for. And to think that it was originally slated to be available since the begining? Ha!
I wonder if this could be confirmed or denied in the upcoming liner notes?
