The scene where Houdini escapes from a straight-jacket is beautifully scored. Is there a soundtrack release?

I remember this was on various labels' wish lists from Paramount. We investigated the elements and they were in very bad shape...the little that survived was mostly source music. So that's why nobody has released it.

This is the very first soundtrack I remember recording with my portable open-reel from the TV speaker when I was a kid. I thought I was doing something brilliant at the time.
I used to take the recorder to bed, pull the covers over my head and listen to my recorded movies in the dark with just the tiniest green glow of a little lamp on the machine. That was my first Home Theatre.

Thank you, Lukas. What a pity. I'm sure the rest of the score is just as good.

Roy Webb is credited as composer of HOUDINI.

I seem to recall some music by Van Cleave and maybe another one or two. Not sure if it was tracked or written for the picture. I believe I have the cue sheets hidden away in some closet somewhere...

It turns out that the music for the straightjacket scene is largely composed by Johann Strauss: Perpetuum Mobile, Op. 257 (Perpetual Motion).
