Too bad a release of the complete score won't be tied in frown

They should make a special cut release with Shire's rejected score.

Get ready for the OAR fanatics:

Are you saying it should be shown in the wrong aspect ratio??? Or that it doesn't matter?

And William Friedkin wanted THE FRENCH CONNECTION to look like s**t on Blu-ray. But that doesn't mean that I have to buy it.

Have you ever watche it on dvd or bluray?

Looks fantastic.
The ratio used loses no important information on the sides and reflects the ratio of the 70mm version.
Your loss.

You can buy the Blu-Ray that wasn’t restored by him that was released later.

New version, confirmed: "...when asked which version I personally wanted to be shown, I often felt that the original 1979 was too abruptly shortened, and Redux was too long, and settled on what I now felt was the perfect version, which is what we’re showing at Tribeca later this month, called Apocalypse Now Final Cut.”

Redux added some great stuff but also padding.
I hope he dropped the sex scene at the French plantation and the Playmates . [ I can't believe I am asking for some great female nudity to be excised!].

Vittorio Storarro is no Friedkin!

I knew there was something I liked about ol' Vittorio...

I actually like the Redux Cut, though I understand this Final Cut has seen some massive restoration work.

I like Redux, too. Hopefully all three versions will be preserved in 4K

I expect Coppola to provide "Original" and "Final Cut" versions of Apocalypse Now, with no standalone Apocalypse Now Redux.

What we know about prominent directors and their "Final Cut"(s) is that some seem permanent, like Blade Runner, and some aren't. I expect Redux to be relegated to the status of a larval-stage relic.

I'm curious to see if the Final Cut will include any material from the Workprint, or never-before-seen sources.

Report-back from Tribeca screening: the Final Cut is pretty much the same as Redux, except there's no extra scene with the Playboy Bunnies, and no scene with Kurtz reading magazine quotes to Willard. The end credits music comes in right before the last shot fades out, and the credits now include the names of personnel who worked on this new restoration. And it's all in glorious 2:35:1
