Yeah, the OP query seems odd, because it's generally the NORM that sequels are scored by other composers, instead of the exception. Especially in this day and age (how many repeat composers have there been in the X-Men movies, like, two?).

A MAN CALLED HORSE (Leonard Rosenman) / RETURN OF A MAN CALLED HORSE (Laurence Rosenthal)

I don't care what anyone involved says; I'm POSITIVE that somebody goofed and got in touch with the wrong guy because of the name similarity.

Yavar

Thats funny. Something i always wondered.

Richard Lester's The Three Musketeers (1973) Michel Legrand, & The Four Musketeers (1974) Lalo Schifrin. Very odd seeing as how both films were filmed at the same time & you'd think that the same composer would be working on both films, keeping the various themes & maybe adding a few others, but two very different scores. I wonder what the story was behind that? Two great scores, I prefer the Schifrin.

Okay... does this count? All Omen movies were scored by Jerry Goldsmith but was there not an Omen IV... The Awakening? Was that a TV movie? I forget the composer. Too lazy to look it up.

Yes, Jonathan Sheffer. I nearly mentioned that one myself.

Emamanuelle: 1 Bachelet; 2 Bachelet & Lai; 3 Gainsbourg; 4 Magne; 5 Bachelet...

Perhaps Legrand thought he was scoring one film not two, and threatened to sue big grin
