Warner Archive has announced that it will add four new titles to its BLu-ray catalog this April: Howard W. Koch's Frankenstein 1970 (1958), Guy Green's A Patch of Blue (1965), Charles Walters' Summer Stock (1950), and Shameless: The Complete Ninth Season (2018).
Frankenstein 1970
Synopsis: Is there a doctor in the house? At the eerie House of Frankenstein, the answer is "yes" – and he's out to make right the experiment in playing God that's doomed his family for generations.
There's also a Karloff in the house, a fact that makes 1958's Frankenstein 1970 a must-see for savvy fright fans. Twenty-seven years after scaring the daylights out of everyone as the lumbering monster in Frankenstein, Boris Karloff is at the other end of the laboratory switches and gizmos. He's Dr. Victor Frankenstein, an aging, hulking shambles of dignity and menace who agrees to let a TV crew shoot a horror flick at the family castle. The crew members don't know it yet, but they're just what the doctor ordered: fresh body parts, ready for harvesting!

A Patch of Blue

Summer Stock
Synopsis: There's an unusual harvest at Falbury Farm: beans, hay…show tunes. It's a bumper crop, too, with Judy Garland and Gene Kelly leading all the hoofing, singing and sparking. In her final MGM musical, Garland plays Jane Falbury, a farm owner more than a bit riled when her aspiring-actress sister (Gloria De Haven) shows up with a theatrical troupe that wants to stage a musical in the family's barn. Any guess who becomes the show's sudden star after its lead runs off with a Broadway actor? Highlights include Kelly's shuffle-and-squeak "You, Wonderful You" dance solo making use of loose boards and newspaper on the floor, tuxedo-topped Garland's leggy, joyous "Get Happy" and a Kelly/Phil Silvers country-bumpkin bit of "Heavenly Music" backed by woofing canines. Finally A Patch Of Blue gets a remastered release! One of Goldsmith’s best films IMO with great performances all round...and such a lovely score. Thanks for posting!
