FRIDAY, MARCH 22 DEADWOOD---trailer released for the HBO sequel movie. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAcftIUE6MQ THE BATMAN---Armie Hammer commented on rumors that he is starring in THE BATMAN and THE INVISIBLE MAN, “I get asked about that, and also about BATMAN: ‘Are you gonna do BATMAN?’ I’m like, ‘No …’ They’re like, ‘Are you gonna do THE INVISIBLE MAN?’ And I’m like, ‘Who is making these calls?! No!'” He later added, “That’s the problem: I’ve never been approached, but if I was, I would jump at the opportunity. You can only say ‘no’ or ‘yes’ to projects you’re offered.” STARSHIP TROOPERS---Jake Busey commented on he and Casper Van Dien reuniting for a live-action tv series based on the 1997 movie, "So I think Casper and I would be older men in the battle, in the war room, in the planning room or at the helm of a destroyer but not necessarily boots on the ground. We’re old guys now if you’re 45 years old you’re not going to be running around doing the boot camp thing. But yeah, a TV series would be great". Busey said he and Van Dien had talked to Ed Neumeier, writer of the original movie, about the tv series. GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS---director Michael Dougherty said he has been a Godzilla fan since childhood and commented on the sequel, “I hesitate to say it, but I would call (my movie) the ALIENS to Gareth’s [Edwards] ALIEN.” He added, "If you compare ALIEN, which is a very straight science fiction film with not a lot of yucks, compared to ALIENS which sort of had a bit more fun, tongue-in-cheek moments, we’re somewhere in the middle there.” ALIEN---Noah Hawley (FARGO) tried to develop an ALIEN miniseries for FX, but 20th Century Fox movie head Stacey Snider led the opposition that blocked the miniseries. THE TOXIC AVENGER---Macon Blair is the writer/director of the Legendary Pictures reboot of the 1984 movie. DARK TOWER---Jasper Paakkonen (VIKINGS) and Sam Strike (NIGHTFLYERS) will star in the Amazon pilot based on the Stephen King novels. THE CONNERS---ABC renewed the series for Season 2. Also, Roseanne Barr blamed co-star Sarah Gilbert for the reboot show's cancellation after Gilbert's critical tweet to Barr's controversial tweet about Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett, “She destroyed the show and my life with that tweet. She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti.” Gilbert replied to Barr's recent comment, “While I’m extremely disappointed and heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family, and I will always love Roseanne.” THE THREE MUSKETEERS---Netflix is developing a modern day movie version of the novel which will have a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE tone. NOT FADE AWAY---Emily Blunt is in talks to star in the Rebecca Alexander memoir in which she began to lose her sight and hearing due to a rare genetic mutation. SCHITT'S CREEK---Season 6 will be the last season. TRIVIA---Joseph Mazzello is known for appearing in JURASSIC PARK and THE PACIFIC, but his first movie role was a young boy abused by his mother in PRESUMED INNOCENT. Joseph Mazzello's prominent roles were in JURASSIC PARK and THE PACIFIC miniseries. Mazzello's first movie role was Wendell McGaffney, a young boy abused by his mother in PRESUMED INNOCENT (Harrison Ford, Greta Scacchi).

STARSHIP TROOPERS Every time they try to redo or make a sequel to films like RoboCop and ST it never works. A) they never get the original director back b) they bring in a new writer and c) they focus on the "Satire." With RoboCop it's the commercials - which got over the top and more silly, rather than cheeky and subversive. ST was a satire sending up mindless patriotism and propaganda. The Federation wasn't "good." The sequels were cheaper and a different focus.

The fact that Shits Creek has enough viewers to keep it on the air for six seasons is a sure sign we are in the end times!

Every time they try to redo or make a sequel to films like RoboCop and ST it never works. A) they never get the original director back b) they bring in a new writer and c) they focus on the "Satire." Well that does not mean it would work, I think of such movies as Miami Vice (directed by the guy responsible for the TV-Series) and then we have the new Predator and that movie is written and directed by someone who worked on the original one and is also known as a famous writer (Lethal Weapon, anyone) but this new version did not work very well so I am doubtful about your statement. Well, it doesn't help. The people who took over didn't have the same creative vision and focused on the surface trappings. "Oh, man those commercials were popular, make them more outrageous. And the violence was over the top, so make it even MORE disgusting!" "What about the story?" "the what now?"
