No, I am not talking about sports movies because there are already threads about it. I am talking about movies that is not about sports but feature just a few scenes (or so) about some kind of a sport. For example the old guys in the movie Cocoon 2 is playing basket (to James Horner`s Basketball Swing) but that movie is far from considered a sports movie.

So we all have our favorite sports movies and sports movie scores. However what about those movies that is not about sports but still have a scene or two that features some kind of a sports. And just like my example that movie had a track that is underscoring that sports scene.

So which score tracks from those movies that is not about sports but have a scene or two that features sports is your favorite?

Didn't Gung Ho have a softball scene? My favorite is not from a movie but a television series, King of Queens when Doug got on his wife's law firms baseball team.

Easy. Fave sports scene in a non sports movie.
Dunno about tracks.
Probably downhill skiing in ohmss.

"...Here's my Penfold Hearts. You must have played the wrong ball somewhere on the 18th fairway. We are playing strict rules, so I'm afraid you lose the hole ...and the match..."

Well I shall respond with the skiing sequence in FYEO which is one of my favourite chase scenes ever. Starts with ski jumping, then into the skiing, then skiing with a bobsleigh!

The Bond films have a high pedigree wth sport scenes. Horse racing, fencing, clay pigeon shooting, skiing (four times), ice hockey, golf, poker (if you can call that a sport), polo, even surfing...

Kinda similar to the Cortina montage in STORY OF A WOMAN. A rather cheesy and ad hoc sequence, but at least it allows Williams the opportunity to write a glorious piece of music (release this score already, dammit!).

There are obviously plenty of such scenes. Bowling in THE BIG LEBOWSKI, anyone?

In A Few Good Men Mr. C had a turn up at the plate and it looked like he had never swung a bat in his life. He's not the only actor in that type of scene!

One of my top ten favorite films....Black Sunday.

Director John Frankenheimer and crew actually filmed real football games being played while cleverly intermixing the fictional drama taking place in and around the stadium.

Excellent point!
TMWTGG featured a legit Muay Thai fight in Rajadamnern Stadium. They didn't include the Wai Khru ritual - I guess it would've been a bit much for western audiences back in '74.
