SEASON 1

If I didn't list an episode, that means it had no credited composer.

EDIT:
As of March 12, 2020, most of the links no longer work. Expect to click on some and find no load.

EDIT:
As of November 24, 2020, some new links have been added. New links will be noted aside each episode link.

Although the series has been in syndication, the home video release was cancelled a few years ago for unstated reasons. I wonder if those reasons would also impede soundtrack releases. frown

I'd like the Spielberg-directed, Goldenberg-scored sci fi episode "LA 2017".

I suspect that includes more than one composer's music.

"The Incomparable Connie Walker" was written and directed by Frontiere's "Stoney Burke" and "The Outer Limits" comrade Leslie Stevens, and of which Frontiere also was the episode's associate producer.

UNCREDITED, ADDITIONAL, and POSSIBLY CREATED COMPOSERS:

Taken from ASCAP and BMI. In no special order:

  • Caesar Giovannini (a sessions percussionist; I suspect he did some of the percussion music in "Chains of Command")

  • Harold Mooney.

  • Roger Kellaway.

  • Lennie Hayton.

  • Jack Hayes.

  • Pete Rugolo.

  • Stanley Wilson (BMI also has him paired with Joseph Burke).

  • Irwin Coster (BMI also has a separate entry pairing him with Rugolo).

  • John Williams (BMI also has entries where he's listed with Frederick Herbert and Stanley Wilson).

  • Lalo Schifrin.

There has of course been no release of the show's scoring.

Doubling back to an episode that wasn't up back when I did this show.

    "The Incomparable Connie Walker "
    By: Dominic Frontiere
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkjjZqDeSVY

    Highlights:
  • 0:46 in. The source music.
  • 20:52 in.
  • 41:48 in.
  • 45:52 in. And the cool cue after the commercial break.
  • 58:01 in.
  • 59:11 in.

  • About 1:04:10 in.
  • 1:08:51 in.
  • 1:11:00 in.
  • 1:14:50 in.

That's nearly every cue from the episode.

    Out-of-context quote...

    SEASON 1:

Doubling back to an episode that wasn't up when I started. And boy, if you love old TV scoring and Oliver Nelson, you're in for a real treat...

ALSO, new links have been added to some episodes. I made a note with the date by each new link so you know which ones are new.

    "Nightmare"
    Music Score: Oliver Nelson
    This is Nelson's first effort.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W2ACMcP9_M

    Highlights:
  • About 2:10 in. Some romantic material opens the cue for the first minute.
  • 4:38 in. About four minutes.
  • 12:17 in. Made of cool.
  • 16:20 in.
  • About 19:00 in.
  • 23:04 in. A repeating plucked descending double bass opens the cue, with some strings, before leading way into some mournful cello and strings work, then some variation on what opened the cue. About three minutes long.
  • About 26:30 in.
  • Around 31:30 in.
  • 35:42 in. Oh, more scoring that is just made of cool. 40:42 in: a short outtro I might tag on to it; also, not connected, the cue after the commercial break.
  • 50:53 in.
  • 54:00 in.
  • 56:30 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 59:49 in. Breezy combined with cool.
  • 1:02:06 in.
  • 1:05:18 in.
  • 1:07:46 in.
  • 1:09:03/1:10:29 in.
  • 1:14:38 in. It's a shame the closing cue isn't as good as the rest of the score.

That's pretty much every single cue. I maybe skipped a handful or less of cues.

A little passed 55:00 in: Did you see it? She was wearing a blue dress when talking to the bad guy, but when her dad called her and she ran out of the woods, she was wearing a purple/pink dress. And then the bad guy calls Stack's character sand says he had a talk with the girl a week ago, but that's not what the episode shows. The episode shows a few minutes passed on the same day.

    Continuing SEASON 3:

Doubling back to an episode that has not been up since I started the thread, until now.

    "Appointment in Palermo"
    Music Score: Ralph Ferraro
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arU2-Bqjams

This is presumably Ferraro's only effort.

    Highlights:
  • 0:40 in. Whimsical music for an unusual opening: two actors reading the main crew and actors credits and commenting on them. Sadly, the composer was not in it. Just over five minutes long. This is pretty much the only funny thing you'll see in what is supposed to be a comedy episode.
  • 5:58 in. This is essentially the same cue just picking back up, so I'd combined this with the above one.
  • 7:58 in.
  • 10:00 in.
  • 18:26 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 22:37/23:57 in.
  • 28:55 in.
  • 32:32 in.
  • 34:44 in.
  • 36:59 in.
  • 40:46 in.
  • 42:46 in.
  • 54:06 in. And the cue after the commercial break.
  • 1:04:55 in.
  • 1:09:46 in.
  • 1:14:22 in.

Good lord that was painful to watch. And look how long it is!!!

A different score, stylistically speaking from the rest of the series so far. Flavored to sound Italian, the score is rather repetitive, so that might put some people off. due to the nature of same-ness amongst many cues, the score I think lends itself to maybe combining several cues (in an order to be determined by somebody else) into suite form.

That's all but four cues. Maybe a fifth one (there is a long source cue played on an LP in the episode, which may not be original material).
