This exercise has already been done, for the Golden Age composers at least.
Having their heads on postage stamps is probably the next best thing to being on Mount Rushmore.

    Steiner, Bernstein, Williams... plus a faceless area of bare rock to represent the Zimmer generation.

    To heck with the faceless... We're talking Mount Rushmore here. Fundamentals: Steiner, Newman, Williams, Bernstein or Goldsmith (sorry guys, only room for one of 'em. I'd probably pick Bernstein.) Zimmer et. al. will have to find themselves some other sacred Lakota spiritual site to defile.
