I loved those two and their show! I like their reviews to T2, THE ABYSS and TITANIC. What about you guys?

I appreciated their positive reviews of films I would never have heard of otherwise. They gave the thumbs up review of the Coen Brothers' first film Blood Simple. Based on that review I went to see it and was so glad I did.

I always enjoyed their skewering of turkeys like Meteor, Krull and Bonfire of the Vanities.

Their disagreements and arguments were always amusing. Discussions of films such as Aliens, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade or Halloween III Season of the Witch are good for a chuckle.

I seldom agreed with either of them, but their review of Red Sonja (I believe it was) had me laughing... God that movie was bad.

One of my favorites was The Wrath of Khan, paraphrasing Siskel went in with no expectations, calling The Motion Picture a "boring slog". He found the Wrath of Khan full of rich characters and interesting places.

The time Ebert excoriated Siskel for revealing *the* major reveal in The Crying Game. This was on one of their Oscar picks shows, and I believe it was in front of a studio audience. Ebert was FURIOUS with ol' Gene!

Siskel had a habit of revealing spoilers.

Yes, he called TMP a "worthless bore". Siskel praised Shatner's performance in Trek II and said the film had a very touching ending. I was surprised by his glowing review of the film.

When they reviewed Honorary Consul, based on a Graham Greene novel, Ebert mentioned that Richard Gere interpreted his character, who was half American and half British, by speaking in a British accent half the time and an American accent the other half.

I remember their review of HEAVEN'S GATE where they BOTH ridiculed the use of subtitles during a big battle scene.
Lol.

They tore into The Black Hole. Roger Ebert of all ppl who was usually into anything Sci Fi mocked the film. He made fun of the fact the black hole was blue and said it looked like what happens when you flush the toilet.

Siskel said it looked like a cross between a bathtub drain and a blue donut.

I liked their summation of their review to Rambo: First Blood Part II.

"Yes, it's predictable. But it's an exciting predictable movie."

I remember their JURASSIC PARK review, they gave it two thumbs up but not very enthusiastically.

In 1995 or so, S&E did a pretty good program called "The Tarantino Generation." I thought they were even handed and accurate in their appraisal of Tarantino. Tarantino evidently thought so, as it's included as a bonus feature on the Jackie Brown DVD.

I wish S&E had done a show on some of the Pulp Fiction-inspired knockoffs which were seemingly everywhere circa 1995-1999.
