What classical selections are used in FILM? Any on the CD?

Händel, Dvorak, Gorecki. It's in the Fox Searchlight track listing I linked to above. Haven't seen the film yet, but I assume they're all used in the film.

Arvo Part as well. "Tabula Rasa, II. Silentium" (incorrectly credited to Handel on the Fox Searchlight FYC page but must be a copy/paste error from the earlier Handel cue).

Disappointing choices, unless he uses some lesser known works by those composers.

Edit: " SILENTIUM" is Part?

My guess is that there are more existing pieces in the film than are actually on the soundtrack. That's usually the case for Malick films, and it takes a detective to figure it all out.

"Silentium” is the just the title of the second movement of “Tabula Rasa”.

" I knew that. What makes you think I didn't know that?!"
Nathan Thurm, Esquire

I stand by.my other statement about his more recent composistions like " Lamentante' and ' DEER..' being subpar.

A.narrative.film from Terry?!
Great news....if true#

As long as it's not too conventional and that the cinematic poetry Malick mastered in The Tree of Life is still on display.

It is indeed. A good mix of Malick's poetic voiceovers and dialogue scenes that last a while. Malick's style can feel detached from emotion and I feared this film, despite its electric subject matter, would be that way as I watched it today. But by the end, I felt very moved. Certainly Malick's best since The Tree of Life.

In a current review of this movie, the critic says the following:

"James Newton Howard’s score is appropriately grand — though as usual for Malick, it’s abetted by the extensive use of existing classical music, from Bach and Beethoven and Handel to Henry Gorecki, Arvo Pärt and Alfred Schnittke."

I like "grand."

Nice interview with JNH in Vulture about working with Malick, among other things:
