The symposium that is held at the university of music has just been announced. It will take place on Oct 16th and will have Gabriel Yared and Marc Shaiman as guests as well as German composers Ralf Wengenmayr and Marius Ruhland. There's also a masrer class by Yared on Oct 15th which will be far more expensive. Usually they are aimed at music students though this is curently not mentioned on the website. So it might just be Yared talking about his work like Zimmer last year who only made a short appearance at the general symposium.
If you are planning to attend the concert and can make it to Vienna a couple of days earlier the symposium is highly recommended. While some parts may be held in German the majority will be be in English.

Either way, I'm skipping it this year. I like several of Yared's scores, but not enough to warrant the travel costs at this time. Looking forward to everyone else's reports, though.
