Still over the moon about having E.T. THE RIDE music on this release, and the story in the liner notes about it. That cool extra alone is worth owning this set.
Wouldn't it be an idea to include ET on the 'low stock alert' page on your site? Not much point having such a page if it's not updated with info on titles low in stock. (As far as I can remember, when the Jurassic Park set stock was low, it was never listed on the 'low stock alert' page.)
Absolutely essential, down to the cover art. You can join the finale cue in iTunes if you like it that way (I do).
WHAT YOU MEAN - Join ?
Yeah, MM had to split the finale cue in two parts because the length = $$ now. Bizarre, this studio accounting. Anyway, yeah, I just put them together in iTunes so it plays as a continuous 15 minutes.
Just popping in here to say that this is the best this score has ever sounded. My go-to was the Hoffman-mastered MCA release of the original LP program, but this beats that by miles. Remarkable depth and clarity, and the obvious edit in "Three Million Light Years From Home" has been re-done to play smoothly now.
I bought my copy a few weeks back when the last batch arrived. ET has never been one of my favourite JW scores but I had to get a copy before it went OOP. Really need to listen to it...
A wonderful release presenting this important score in the best possible way! I am glad for the label that in a matter of hours or days they will have managed to sell all of the last few albums of the original 5000 units of this classic Williams. Too bad it will not be available anymore to the public on CD for a while. It took a little more than one year and a half before selling out. Not bad!
Those of you who have not gotten this yet should definitely grab it while they can as it is certainly the definitive version of this landmark score. This announcement that it's selling out makes a good reminder for me to give this another listen.
