Not only did it make it through the season, but I thought it had a satisfying conclusion considering they didn't actually know they were canceled. (Now if only the Bly storyline had had a satisfying conclusion!)
And with the way it happened and the unknown full abilities of the orb, there's always a chance Bly could have been back. An unexpected return to take the audience by surprise.
