The relationship between, Luke, Anikan and Ben are pivotal and the center of the entire story.

Which entire story would that be? Because as far as I'm concerned The Star Wars saga began rapturously with Star Wars and ended (ignominiously) with the conspicuously infantile Return of the Jedi.

As for what followed … well, the prequels are objectively incompetent narratives; the sequels even more so. And the tie-ins? The novels and the animated series? They don't even appear on my radar.

Call me weird, but Star Wars was perfectly fine the first time I saw it, and I have the utmost respect for the Oscar winning editing team of the 1977 original. The award was well deserved. Along with Williams, they managed to fashion a rip-roaring fantasy-adventure the likes of which had never before been seen or heard. So hacking up their handiwork to accommodate clumsy and irrelevant post hoc fan wankery and/or cynical market synergy goals is/should really beyond the pale. But that "crime" was perpetrated by George himself with the "Special Editions" so the well has been poisoned for some time already.

Spruced up releases of the virgin originals is all I require, thank you very much. You're more than welcome to the sloppy seconds and thirds.

I'll second that.

Its pretty obvious the fan re-imaged scene encompasses the first six films in story content. I love what he did, but your free to hate it. As far as the rest of your post I agree with you a hundred percent. So we are not so as odds as you think.

It’s just the right amount of physical action without going over the top (like the prequels) and better than any light saber fights in those gawd awful sequels.

Yet another example of a fan making a better Star Wars action sequence than a multi billion dollar company with all the resources at it's disposal.

I'd disagree. I'd say more that it looks more like what modern folks WANT to see in a fight like this. If this were actually in the 1977 film, I think it would look out of place.

But if it makes you happy, Solly (and I'm not being sarcastic, here): great!

Bingo!
