I laughed out loud at the reveal of the new Star Trek show's title. After denying that it's called Star Trek: Picard, they reveal that it's called Star Trek: Picard. Just own up to it next time, guys. This just makes you look foolish.

Re: Star Trek: Grandpa

I only have two points of curiosity regarding this production: how much is Stewart's payout and how many of his scenes will show him in a seated position?

It'll be: "Star Trek: Barnaby Jones"

Where Picard will do some walking and talking, maybe some ducting, but one or two helpers will handle most of the stuff and action scenes. And lots of sitting.

I urge you to go google recent photos of Mr Stewart, who is absolutely jacked for his age. There are guys in their 20s who don't have guns like he does

It's only a glimpse of Patrick Stewart as Picard, but I like what I see. The people around him seem to wear TNG-based uniforms and he doesn't have a beard! I'm really looking forward to this show.
Concerning the title:
Who knows? That may be just the beginning of athoer shows... Star Trek: Worf, Star Trek Riker... I'd watch those without hesitation.

That sounds like nothing but more milking of the cash cow to me... to say nothing of Frakes being far better behind the camera than in front of it. We got a glimpse of a Riker-led show in "Best of Both Worlds, Part II." He left a lot to be desired in my opinion.

Perhaps he developed better leading skills while commanding his own vessel the Titan...
I do agree with the cash-cow image. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad show. I haven't seen it, but Avengers:Endgame seems to please a lot of people, although it's the umpteens sequel of successful films in a franchise.

On a tangent, does CNN use a reworked main theme from "Star Trek:Generations"? Sounds like it at the start.
