One of the many ongoing projects by our old mates Gaetano and Co. I love the total dedication they have, and everything is a painstaking labour of love. The midi recreations aren't supposed to take the place of the original soundtracks, or even re-recordings. There are a few threads about their work, and they're constantly posting updates on FB, if you go there. I applaud them wholeheartedly (not that you were criticising them).
I agree. A warm refreshment of beloved things from another point of view.
Indeed, finder. I'm more familiar with Gae's recreations of Hammer Films scores, where he works when possible from score sheets provided by the amazingly knowledgeable David Huckvale, but mostly by ear from the film itself. It's astounding how 'right' he gets it. He's not the only one to work that way, but he probably has the most 'attuned' ear of them all.
Gaetano is a pure genius. His Best Years is a delight to listen. He has amazingly done the full soundtracks to (Horror of) Dracula and The Curse of Frankenstein which are coming out from Tadlow. He also has done Dracula, Prince of Darkness, Dracula Has Risen From the Grave & The Quatermass Xperiment to name a few. He also did the Victor Young score from A Man Alone. Even though it is midi he orchestrates and as Grahamm stated, he get's it right all the time.
