WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19

WONDER WOMAN 1984---spoiler alert (see below).

AVENGERS: ENDGAME---Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed the movie will be re-released with new, unseen footage, "Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises...Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend.” The original version was three hours and one minute long. There was no indication of how long the new version will be.

GAME OF THRONES---the HBO prequel pilot has started filming in the same location as the original series in Northern Ireland.

MALKO---Michael Fassbender will play superspy Malko Linge in the Lionsgate movie based on the S.A.S. spy novels. The movie will be based on the CHECKPOINT CHARLIE novel. The writer is Eric Warren Singer (AMERICAN HUSTLE, TOP GUN: MAVERICK).

STAR TREK---showrunner Alex Kurtzman commented on the tv franchise plans, “The plan is multiple shows. It takes really a year from writing to finished product, sort of like animation. I have to plan [new shows] two or three years out from now. It’s not just the shows, we have the Short Treks too. We’re doing six more of them, two of them are animated, unlike the two animated shows. What I love about the Short Treks is that they are an experimental training ground, a place to experiment with different things – directors who we’ve never worked with before, tones we’ve never tried before. Michael Giacchino is doing one of the animated shorts and Olatunde Osunsanmi is doing another one…again, different animation styles, totally different tones – aimed at kids I would say, more than adults.”
He commented on how to attract the old Trek fans to the new shows, “Render onto Caesar what is Caesar’s, everybody from the older generation should be incorporated into the new generation, there should always be respect for both and yet it always has to forge new ground.”
Kurtzman also discussed the DISCOVERY spinoff series about Section 31 starring Michelle Yeoh, "Erika [Lippoldt] and Boey [Kim], who are two of our writers on DISCOVERY, are breaking story on [Section 31] right now and the plan is to shoot that the second we’re done with [DISCOVERY] Season 3."

SPIDER-MAN---in the 1980s, Cannon Films bought the Spider-Man movie rights from Marvel Comics for $225,000. The Cannon movie was to be directed by Tobe Hooper with the plot having Peter Parker, an ID photographer, being irradiated by evil scientist Dr. Zork. The resulting Spider-Man is a monstrous human/spider hybrid that Zork wants to be the leader of his mutant army. Parker's human side prevails, and he tries to save mankind by battling Zork and his mutants.
The Cannon movie was never made because Stan Lee rejected the concept.

MURDER MYSTERY---the Netflix movie starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston had the “biggest opening weekend” for a Netflix original movie with 30.8 million accounts viewing in three days. Netflix's BIRDBOX had 45 million accounts in seven days.

GREENLAND---Morena Baccarin will co-star with Gerard Butler in the sci fi movie about a family trying to survive during a cataclysmic disaster.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY---Paramount Pictures announced the seventh movie in the franchise is underway.

MAX LANDIS---writer Max Landis, son of John Landis, has been accused of sexual assault and abuse by eight women. One of the women claimed, “Max Landis is a serial rapist, gaslighter, physical and psychological abuser who tormented me for six years, long after our romantic relationship, both directly and behind my back.”
CHRONICLE director Josh Trank tweeted, “I 100% believe every word of this article about Max. I banned him from visiting principal photography of 'Chronicle', and I haven’t spoken to him since 2012. To read about the terror he’s inflicted on so many women since then makes me sick to my stomach. Heartbroken beyond measure.”

CHAMBERS---Netflix cancelled the Uma Thurman tv series.

TRIVIA---in THE GODFATHER's infamous horse head scene, the Oscar statuette on Jack Woltz's nightstand is Francis Ford Coppola's Oscar for PATTON.

Francis Ford Coppola won an Academy Award for co-writing PATTON.

Heh, Feige wants that Avatar record BADLY. Aaaaand cue the "inflation-adjuster" crowd.

That Nicktoons cartoon is all I care about at this point, Trek-wise.

It's good to see the exact amount of people to blame for mediocrity. History will remember this number.

    How biblical.

I've been wanting to see ENDGAME again anyway, so now I have a reason to cross my legs through the end credits!

I remember watching a special presentation on a cable channel of "The Godfather" films years ago, and they would share in commercial breaks interesting bits of trivia. One I didn't forget was:

At the wedding when that guy is constantly mumbling "On this, the day of your daughter's wedding", he is not reading what was wrote for the scene like that, rather, he was so star-struck by Brando, that he was nervously repeating his lines and when they saw that, they quietly turned on the camera and started filming him.

These people are so egotistic and vain. All the power and money in the world won't mean a thing on their death beds. They'll die an empty shell.

But they'll leave a legacy. They'll be remembered. Which is more than I have done. And I'll still die an empty shell.

I am happy to see it again, regardless of the reason it is being released. Honestly though, who can blame them? MIB and Dark Phoenix both tanked, so there isn't much competition at the moment, so why not seize the opportunity?

They'll be remembered for destroying once beloved franchises.
