The 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 is fast approaching and in addition to the astounding new documentary about that mission (and lovely score that accompanies it), I composed the score for 'First to the Moon: The Journey of Apollo 8' late last year--Gravitas Ventures released it this past June. The film has all new interviews with the three astronauts, and dives into extensive details about the astronauts, the space program, and mission itself. Fans of space exploration will find it a wonderful companion to the authoritative Jeffrey Kluger book from a couple of years ago--which I coincidentally read a few months before getting to work with 'First to the Moon' filmmaker Paul Hildebrandt.
The album is available on CD, iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon music (plus most other platforms).
A HUGE thank you to Bryon Davis of Notefornote Music for releasing a selection of the score, Album Producer Peter Hackman for being the main force behind getting this released, and Mark Banning for the fantastic art direction.
If you stream/download/rent/buy this film you'll notice the music works great with the visuals and it's a solid listening experience on its own. More good things are coming from this talented guy!
