Many of the films once listed as "Hidden Gems" are not so hidden anymore thanks to those companies releasing them on DVD and Blu-ray in addition to their regular showings on TCM. One of these is Hidden Gem #59, The Hill, an intense dramatic achievement. (More below including Thursday, (June 27) morning's showtime information throughout the U.S.):
Ah, The Hill, a smashing film (I can just about remember seeing it at the cinema). Staring Sean Connery, but it has a really great cast & everyone is so good, Harry Andrews should easily have won an Oscar for his turn (& it should have made Ossie Davis a star). It's fingers crossed every mid-month that it'll appear in the monthly Warner Archive Blu-ray announcements.
