Awesome idea Hard to decide, between He Walked by Night, or Suspicion, both such rich contrasts and shadows. I am going with Suspicion, because of the interesting geometry of this image; the descending curved staircase and and wall with shadow patterns and Grant the ascending straight line, it's remarkable composition and lighting. Hitchcock always takes all the credit like a vacuum in his movies like someone else we know named Kubrick, but credit here to Harry Stradling Sr who shot this film, and, wow, his list of credits of the movies he shot, goodness- this was a very busy man, 144 credits https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005889/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr4

Aren't a lot of these publicity photographs, taken at the time of shooting, but not actual frame blow-ups? Kubrick was one of the few directors to insist that actual frames from his, later films at least, be used in all publicity.

That Incredible Shrinking Man image is great. Affected me that film when i saw it - the concept of it - aged about 11. It was a simple but terrifying idea and ingeniously made.

I've replaced a few of those categorized as such with my own captures and would be quite interested in hearing specifically which others you think are publicity photographs. Some I know have been "retouched" but I'm considering on redoing those as well. If you would take the time, I'd be most appreciative, thanks!
