Yes. It's kind of a pointless album for any soundtrack aficionado. It's all nicely played and the sound is fine, but in the end I'm not sure who needs it, save for general public who may not have the soundtracks and want a "best of" thing - even though it's not even that. I would have loved suites from The White Sheik and Vitelloni much more than Casanova.

Yes. First, I recommend you purchase the best possible presentations of all 16 film scores that Rota composed for Fellini. Collectively, the most joyous and touching music ever. 2nd) Assuming that you're not going to do the above, you should buy the lp from 1974 Tutti I Film Di Fellini by Nino Rota conducted by Carlo Savina, who conducted most of Rota's Fellini scores. 13 tracks, many of which are not on cd in these performances, form a perfect album. 3rd) If you want a cd then get The Ultimate Best of Fellini and Rota. This is a variation of the above lp, with some different versions, some expanded versions, and some additional selections (post 1974). 16 tracks. Excellent and affordable.
