Rip Torn has died (he was the cousin of Sissy Spacek). Though known mainly as a comic actor in his later years, I preferred him as a fine dramatic actor.
Going by his Wikipedia page, Rip Torn, like fellow dead guy Joao Gilberto, was a tremendous pain in the ass. These guys have the so-called "artistic temperament" down pat. It by no means takes away from my (positive) view of their artistry, but these people--like many an FSMer I venture--were, going by their bios, "hell to live with."
