MONDAY, JULY 15

JAMES BOND---a British tabloid claims Lashana Lynch (CAPTAIN MARVEL) is playing new MI6 agent 007, replacing James Bond, who is retired and living in Jamaica. The tabloid said this was one of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's rewrites of the original script.
An inside source claims, "There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says 'Come in 007', and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman. It's a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond, but he's been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman."
The source added, Bond is "sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks", but he is, "baffled when they don't work."
The source also said "Bond girls" has been replaced with "Bond women."

GHOSTBUSTERS 2020---photo released of Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman on the film set in Alberta, Canada.

WEST SIDE STORY---photo released of Ariana DeBose playing Shark girl Anita in the Steven Spielberg remake.

ELVIS PRESLEY---Austin Butler will play Elvis Presley in the untitled Baz Luhrmann biomovie about Elvis and his manager, Col. Tom Parker. Butler beat out Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller and Harry Styles.

TRAFFICKING---tv movie or miniseries underway based on the book about the Jeffrey Epstein child-trafficking sex scandal.

BABYLON---Emma Stone is in talks to appear in the Damien Chazelle movie set in Hollywood in the 1920s.

THE PREDATOR---co-writer Fred Dekker said Arnold Schwarzenegger's cameo at the movie's end which would lead to a new sequel did not happen because he wanted too much money and the studio rejected the idea. Dekker also said the movie's end included Sigourney Weaver to have a cameo as Ellen Ripley or have Newt from ALIENS appear, “The whole thing seemed to not be in step with that particular franchise. It was one of many ideas that we floated and shot. We shot a version where Ripley was in the cocoon and we shot one where Newt from ALIENS was in the cocoon. Sigourney didn’t want to clear any future for Ripley in the franchise and ultimately I don’t think anybody remembers Newt well enough for that to have meant anything… Hollywood does this all the time by, trying to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one.”

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---Olivia Munn commented on being frustrated during filming, "When I was doing X-MEN, I was actually surprised that the director [Bryan Singer] and the writer [Simon Kinberg] didn’t even know that Psylocke had a twin brother. And I had to talk to them about a lot of different things about Psylocke and some other parts of the world that they didn’t even know, and that, as a fan, was very frustrating.”

THE SERPENT---BBC/Netflix eight-part miniseries based on the true story of how a junior diplomat in the Dutch embassy in Bangkok helped apprehend French serial killer Charles Sobhraj. Tahar Rahim stars.

JOKER: THE YEAR OF THE VILLAIN---DC Comics announced a 40-page one-shot comic book co-written by John Carpenter, '“Now a human-alien hybrid, Lex Luthor has made his appeal to the world, asking its citizens to embrace doom and give in once and for all to evil, humanity’s true nature. In exchange, he will grant them the tools to ascend to their ultimate selves. While some DC villains (and heroes) are willing to hear what “Apex Lex” has to offer, the Clown Prince of Crime isn’t going to wait around until Lex gets to him. This puts The Joker on a mission to get his swagger back in a world gone bad by out-badding everyone else, proving that the greatest evil is always the one that leaves them laughing.”'

CRAZY TALENTED---Quibi superhero tv series in which a charismatic leader convinces patients in a psychiatric ward that they are really superheroes who must protect mankind from alien superweapons. Doug Liman (THE BOURNE SUPREMACY) is the director.

SPACE INVADERS---New Line movie underway based on the video game.

TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
The theme song for NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN was sung by Lani Hall, formerly of Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66. The song's producers were Hall's husband, Herb Alpert, and Mendes. However, in the movie's end credits, Mendes is incorrectly spelled as "Mendez".

I was pretty much done with the franchise in it's current incarnation. Now I definitely am through with it. Plenty of the old ones to watch.

Is Cubby Broccoli's wife still in charge? She said James Bond should always be a man.

Just to clarify, Lynch is reportedly playing 007 for this movie, she is not the new James Bond.

Does she die in the opening sequence and then the real Bond has to come out of retirement and be 007 again?

"The source added, Bond is "sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks", but he is, "baffled when they don't work."'

This sounds like Pussy Galore in GOLDFINGER.

She was expecting Idris Elba, not Little Danny Craig.
Can you blame her?

LOL. Wussy Galore. I hope we evolve to the point in which James Bond takes someone like that over his knee to spank some sense into her.

The source also said "Bond girls" has been replaced with "Bond women."

Bond PR people have been offering up that chestnut for every film since 1977, at least. It never sticks.

And for every film, they say "This time, the woman is an active participant, and Bond's equal." It's been true of every film, but they always throw it out there as if female characters are suddenly and for the first time getting their due.

In the first film the ' girl' killed a man who molested her. She was proficient with.a k knife and an expert diver and fisher.
In.the NEXT THREE she literally saved Bond's life !
