LLL promptly replaced it. I thought I had checked the other discs so I'm not sure how I missed the holes in the BENEATH disc. I felt stupid and bad about reporting it separately after they replaced CONQUEST, but LLL promptly replaced BENEATH as well. But here's the kicker - the replacement has a hole in same area. It seems like this must be an issue in many POTA discs for this to happen to me, statistically speaking. Still waiting for a reply from them about replacing the replacement. And of course if they think I'm pulling some stupid prank, they should assert that as well. Did you contact LLL about it, or consider it not worth the hassle? I bought it from Intrada who said noone else has mentioned it. Just played the first disc and read the liners and was: 1) Incredibly impressed by the improvement in the sound over the original lp. 2) Shocked to read that the reason the Project 3 original release (along with, presumably, Bandolero) was so short (25 minutes or somesuch) was to help with the audiophile sound. Now, as someone who grew up with these albums and played them endlessly on pretty pedestrian stereo set-ups, I always thought the sound on those Project 3 albums was just horrible (along with Paramount Records) and had this perpetual surface noise. The packaging and artwork are really great, with all scores presented in their own cases with liner notes and the original artwork. The box itself is of good sturdy quality and comes with its own liner notes. Just unpacking and browsing through is already a great experience! And I am not even familiar with the scores apart from the first one. A true masterpiece, that now sounds amazing, especially considering its age. The special Mike Matessino touch.. I can't wait to discover the other Apes scores. Oh, and the small details, like the notes containing the recording dates of each cue across all five scores, are really appreciated. I own all of the scores already through Varèse Sarabande and Film Score Monthly. Is there a HUGE upgrade of sound on this release? PAOTA is mostly improved with most tracks gaining in detail and crispness but I spotted few tracks that have hardly a better mix than the Varese edition. BTPOTA is fantastic and the new track list (score presentation) makes it sound very fresh. The Original album remaster is slightly sharper than the original without being mind blowingly superior. EFTPOTA is very similar as the previous release. COTPOTA is also a major improvement in clarity and spatialization (for the stereo tracks) BFTPOTA is the closest to the previous version. Have to say it's been a challenge ripping them cleanly to my iTunes library where I listen to my purchased music in Lossless quality. The first couple times, I found ticks in the first couple tracks. I looked for any surface dust or pits but couldn't find any. I used dBpowerAmp the last time to rip since I thought maybe iTunes was the culprit. I've had no issues ripping other CDs, even ones that have gotten a lot more use outside my office (car CD) like the BlueBox. It's weird.... Anyhow, it's a great set and the original score sounds amazing. The Hunt is one of the best cues I've ever heard. No complaints- however what they don't advertise is that a lot of their product are cut-out/promo copies. All the packaging has been there on the things I've purchased, just the UPCs were hole-punched (and everything was in shrink-wrap). I just ordered this and received with a disc in a paper sleeve rubber banded to the box. Checked out FSM first to see why. Opened my set after reading the above comment and... yeah... The POTA disc in the LLL boxset is labeled as being the Varese issue. Except the Varese POTA that I already have has a picture on the disc (matches the cover). Whereas the Varese disc in the LLL box has an inked black surface.
