Bee nice to these soundtracks! They have black illustrations (a few with a dash of red or grey font) on yellow backgrounds. Below are LP images which I stirred up from my memory hive.
Me and the Colonel (1958)
Rashomon (1959)
Yojimbo (1961/1962)
Walk on the Wild Side (1962)
The Yellow Canary (1963)
Obsession (1976)
London Records was so obsessed with black & yellow they even repeated such buzz on the reverse side.
Feel free to add any I've forgotten (or never knew about). [I'm sure there's more, as my sights are focused primarily on LP covers].
How about the Rocky 2 soundtrack? Or is there just too much black on that supposedly yellow cover? I think the design was to match Rocky's trunks. Anyway, I always liked the simple boldness of those two colors on that cover.
I thought of "In the Heat of the Night" -- but it is probably disqualified because it is mulicolored -- lots of yellow and black amidst other bright colors.
