HALLOWEEN KILLS---Nick Castle tweeted he is returning as Michael Myers for the next sequel.
THE OLD MAN---Jeff Bridges stars in this FX tv series based on the novel about Dan Chase, a long-retired CIA agent, who is targeted by an assassin.
IT: CHAPTER TWO---the sequel received an R-rating for “disturbing violent content and bloody images throughout, pervasive language, and some crude sexual material.” The original movie's R-rating was for the less intense “violence/horror, bloody images, and for language”.
CHALLENGER DEEP---Disney+ movie underway based on the novel about a schizophrenic man who thinks he is part of a voyage to explore the Challenger Deep, the world's deepest ocean trench, while surrounded by his mutinous shipmates.
PENGUIN BLOOM---Andrew Lincoln and Naomi Watts star in this movie based on the book about a magpie chick that changes the lives of a woman, who is paralyzed and depressed after an accident, and her family.
THE WALKING DEAD---AMC programming head David Madden said the series could continue for another 10 years, “I’m not saying the show will go twenty seasons, but I’m not saying it won’t.”
He commented on Andrew Lincoln's departure which saw a 1% ratings drop but then stabilized, “The episode that followed his departure dropped 1% from the previous episode. That, we thought, was stunningly strong in terms of a hold. I think the show still has – with Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride and Jeffrey Dean Morgan – a lot of characters who are truly beloved on the show.”
THE MANDALORIAN---Jon Favreau revealed the advice George Lucas gave to him on writing THE MANDALORIAN, “One thing he said to me was, ‘Remember, Jon, the real audience for all stories and all myths is the kids that are coming of age’, because he’s really a Joseph Campbell adherent…We enjoy the stories as adults, but really, storytelling is about imparting the wisdom of the previous generations on to the children who are becoming adults, and giving them a context for how to behave and how to learn the lessons of the past without making the mistakes on their own. That’s the hope, that you can teach them how to avoid all the hardship but garner all the wisdom.”
WATCHMEN---Damon Lindelof gave some details on the new HBO series which is set in the present-day Watchmen universe. He said Robert Redford is the President of the United States, the Moore and Gibbons comic book is "canon", there are vigilantes based on the now-deceased Rorschach and the internet and smart phones don't exist.
WILL & GRACE---the upcoming Season 3 will be the last season.
THE HANDMAID'S TALE---Hulu renewed the series for Season 4.
TRIVIA---in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, villain Walter Donovan was played by Julian Glover. Donovan's wife was played by Glover's wife, Isla Blair.
