Love to hear some ' real music' for a change!

I'll just chalk it up to a slip of the finger.smile

There is some very good music that came after the golden age . John Williams being the best example. His compositions being better than very good. The same goes for Jerry Goldsmith and Bill Conti. No one however can beat Miklos Rozsa. He reigns SUPREME !

Cody was the only kid in his school who didn't watch The Beatles on Ed Sullivan ( Feb. 1964).
He watched NOW, VOYAGER on the Million Dollar Movie instead.

You're partially right. Sunday night was THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW with such names as Louis Nye, Tom Poston and Bill Dana.
Million Dollar Movie in the Big Apple would more likely be GUNGA DIN and KING KONG than a Bette Davis weeper.

I know that.
But a Bette Davis week weepie is funnier than KONG.

Who told you I like comedies ? Film noir and epics were my "meat and potatos". Bette Davis was good dramatically when playing a bitch. The original OF HUMAN BONDAGE being a classic . I suppose horror is more your speed...WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE ? and HUSH HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE. Your knowledge of good film music probably matches your knowledge of great cinema. Are you one of those who would like to see a box-set of all the music from Gilligan's Island ? Don't be afraid to tell the truth. There is a label who will fulfill your wishes if enough people agree with you.

You keep reusing that GILLIGAN ISLAND riff.

Wasn't funny the 5th time.

Besides, I really want COLUMBO.

OK, I get it ! Now tell me if the music of Gilligan's Island is something that would interest you. I want to know if there is hope for you. Would you prefer Gilligan's Island music to Rozsa's BLOOD ON THE SUN, BRUTE FORCE,THE NAKED CITY or THE KILLERS among others ? Then perhaps your whole mission on this board is just to be a clown. If that's the case there is no need for me to reply.

I know of Steve Vertlieb. I remember reading about the time he spent with Mr.Rozsa. I was in awe. We share a friend on Facebook also.
Now most important of all, I want to apologize to Jesper and Plantsounds for hijacking their thread. I love beautiful melodic film music and if you , the readers on this board, love that kind of music, please purchase VALHALLA from Plantsounds or Screen Archives. You won't be sorry you did.
