THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH---CBS All Acess tv series underway based on the 1976 David Bowie sci fi movie. Alex Kurtzman is the executive producer/showrunner.





THE STAND---Stephen King is writing the last episode with a new ending for the CBS All Access miniseries based on his novel. James Marsden, Amber Heard and Odessa Young star.

STAR TREK: PICARD---a three-issue comic book, "Star Trek: Picard" and a novel, THE LAST BEST HOPE, will be released before the CBS All access tv series to fill in the gap about Picard's life between THE NEXT GENERATION and STAR TREK: PICARD.





THE WALKING DEAD---Season 10 photo shows Kevin Carroll playing Virgil.





NEWSFLASH---Chris Pine will play Walter Cronkite in this movie about tv news coverage of the John F. Kennedy assassination on November 22, 1963.

DEEP WATER---Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas star in this Adriane Lyne (FATAL ATTRACTION) movie based on the Patricia Highsmith novel described as, “an attractive young married couple whose mind games with each other take a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy as Highsmith exposed the surface facade of American suburban life.”





THE LITTLE THINGS---Jared Leto is in talks to play a serial killer in this movie starring Denzel Washington and Rami Malek, who play a Los Angeles deputy sheriff and a Los Angeles police detective, who team up to apprehend a serial killer.

THE STARLING---dramedy movie about a couple who cope with a tragedy in which the wife plants a garden only to be constantly attacked by a starling which has a nest nearby. She seeks therapy from a psychiatrist-turned-veterinarian, who has his own problems. Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Kline and Timothy Olyphant star.

PYROS---Reese Witherspoon stars in this sci fi movie about a group of specialist with indestructible fire suits fused to their spines who retrieve valuable objects from burning mansions. One salvager violates company policy and rescues a human instead.

ATOMIC BLONDE 2---director David Leitch said a sequel to the Charlize Theron movie is being discussed for a streaming service.

UN---Dolph Lundgren stars in this untitled tv series about a covert operative in the UN's Dept. of Safety and Security. Sylvester Stallone is the producer and may direct the pilot.

SHOWTIME---Jason Clarke will play NBA star Jerry West in this HBO pilot based on the book about the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers.

FLACK---Pop TV renewed the series for Season 2.

TRIVIA---the original RODAN was the first acting job for George Takei (STAR TREK), who did voice-overs for the US version of the movie. Takei said, "My father noticed an ad in a local paper for voice actors while I was back in L.A. during summer break from the University of California at Berkeley. I auditioned and got the job." Takei, legendary voice actor Paul Frees, Keye Luke and a woman each did the voices of 8-9 different characters in the US movie version.

I hope he writes a really good ending. I really enjoyed the novel which was VERY long, and then I reached the last few pages that had an abrupt and rather unbelievable ending that could have taken place at anytime in the novel. The novel's ending did not work for me.

I hope he writes a really good ending. I really enjoyed the novel which was VERY long, and then I reached the last few pages that had an abrupt and rather unbelievable ending that could have taken place at anytime in the novel. The novel's ending did not work for me.


A weak third act is not uncommon in King's novels, alas.
