Just a heads up if anyone is after this set....
I’ve found a seller on eBay who has it at a reduced price, with cheaper US shipping as well.
It’s listed at $64.95. , but with a best offer. Plus $7.00 shipping within the USA .
I’ve just haggled for a set via the best offer function and got one for $52.50 plus the shipping.

There are 2 left on the listing.

eBay item number:163808569948

Listed as: PLANET OF THE APES SOUNDTRACK BOX - 5 cd set Limited Edition - Jerry Goldsmith

Seller: cdtraderonline

I’ve bought from them before. No issues and 100% feedback.

cool.
Did you get a similar price ?

If anyone else goes for this, make sure you “best offer ‘ less than $50 , then work up. They offered $55 straight away, then settled at $52.50

Good luck. Maybe they have more of these to sell as well.

$60+tax, with local p/u.

It's lower than list, and I have a little fund of mad money for stuff like this.

I'm a regular at CD Trader.
I didn't know they had an eBay store, though apparently I've bought from them before.

The store often gets new LLL and BSX releases (and the very occasional Intrada release) at a little or a lot below list price.
Their small but mighty soundtrack collection seems to turn up something interesting pretty frequently. This is where I got all the BSX Hammer Dracula scores, among so much else. I guess it's no surprise I also acquired 2 copies of Car Wash and Matrix Revolutions from there, too. That duplicate copy of The Mummy Returns came from Atomic Records, but it's also where I got my $4 copy of League of Gentlemen: Apocalypse.
I was just at CD Trader on Monday looking for this, so this on-line purchase may not apply to my punch-card.

Now, what to do with my Amoeba credit (from my yearly purge) when this is about the only thing I've been remotely jazzed about recently.

I don’t know how it is possible that a new item is sold for such a lower price than from LLL.
I know LLL sells to other retailers for a special price and they add their own mark up.

I remember the case of Intrada’s Jaws 3-D which was offered at e-bay even before being officially released and it turned out it were copies deviated from the manufacturing plant (if the guy had waited for the oficial release nobody would probably detect that it was deviated material).

Just to be clear, I’m not saying these are not legit. Just curious about the logistics to be able to sell for such a lower price. Maybe it is from someone that received complementary copies, like a radio show host or someone from the production team?

I have no idea.

Often these are cut-outs, but not always. I've never had a problem with the discs, cases, or inserts- these aren't seconds or anything.

I also got the box from CD Trader out the door for $71.16 total.
Had 5 stamps left on my card so next purchase I get $7 off. Nice bonus!

Fantastic set! Cheers & congratulations on your 500th to all involved at La La Land!

Does anyone have a link to CD Trader's listings or store? I'd like to check it out.

Not sure if this had been posted before (sorry if it has) but it's a great performance of PotA's "no escape" by the Danish NSO. I stumbled upon it today and was blown away by it!

Does anyone have a link to CD Trader's listings or store? I'd like to check it out.

They don't appear to keep an e-bay store, just individual listings:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/cdtraderonline/m.html?item=163808569948&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

The B&M store is:
www.cdtradertarzana.com

The website isn't for much more than checking the address & hours. They don't link to their inventory or anything, you've got to/you'll want to visit them in person.

I didn't even know they kept any on-line sales presence, and that some of their inventory is only avail on eBay. Neither of these boxes was available in the store (though I was able to do a local p/u), and what's on the shelf is prob not on eBay.

Another local LA merchant- sadly the B&M store is no more:
Creature Features deal in memorabilia, genre related magazines and books, and music.

Thanks for the information. I've saved the seller as a favorite. I love Creature Features, too, and have ordered quite a few things from them over the years... most recently Jeff Bond's excellent book on Irwin Allen.

Right.
They could be promos, review copies etc.
