Halfway through this and sadly not really grabbing my attention. It's orchestral but I'm not hearing anything memorable. It just meanders about, lots of noodling. The Jungle Book is much better with fleshed out thematic material.
Saw the trailer for the film ... well, looked forward to the inevitable CinemaSins and Nostalgia Critic reviews (and the pitch meeting from screen Rant; not seen them before? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZJStOjhMfk).
I have to agree with solium. It's another fun, adventure score by Debney for a kid's movie, but it doesn't hold a candle to his more thematic material like Cutthroat Island, The Jungle Book, or The Orville. Still, it's good to hear *someone* composing orchestral adventure music! It's a fun little distraction while we wait for Orville season 2.

It usually takes me a few listens to catch on to thematic material so I will give this one at least two full listens before I decide if I agree with you. At least tonally it shares similarities to the Jungle Book score.

Sure, it sometimes takes a few listens to warm up to a score. Creating my own edit often improves the experience too. I'll give it a few more tries but I don't suspect it's something I'll go back to.
IMDb also has him as conductor. I assume it's correct; it's not often somebody enters a false Music Department credit in big-name composers on recent films.
