Honestly, I'm relieved to hear this. I love King of the Hill. It's one of my favorite animated shows ever.
But I really don't think it can exist in today's entertainment landscape and be what it was. I think it would be a neutered shell of its former self. Part of the charm and a lot of the humor was how unapologetically un-P.C. some of the characters were.
It just wouldn't fly now. It was a product of its time--a snapshot of that era--and maybe it's best to leave such things in their proper time and place.
I was looking around for any news on if the revival is still happening since Johnny Hardwick's death (voiced Dale). No info', but TVLine reported that Hardwick had recorded his lines for "a couple" of episodes already, so the new season is being made and its unlikely to be shelved.
Mike has yet to comment on what will happen with Dale (understandably he's probably still mourning Johnny's death).
So we at least have some new Dale to hear one day.
Looks like this guy is speculating similar to what I suggested could happen back in Oct & Nov 2019 to honor LuAnn and Lucky: their daughter could comes with live with the Hills in Arlen...
