Member 'Eastern Finn' posted a statement (below) within an FSM thread in which we guess who wrote what music.

"I've been planning to get this album. Sadly there are barely any sound clips online of Beat Records releases so they're basically a blind buy. This definitely sounds like my cup of tea."

This spurred my idea for this thread in which we ourselves can post sound clips from our own music collections which could then assist other members regarding their decisions whether to purchase discs (or not).
This might become rather useful, especially with respect to European albums that do not have any sound samples on vendor websites.

My focus shall be on soundtracks from Beat Records, Saimel, Digitmovies, Alhambra, etc.

Any thoughts, feedback or contributions from the FSM community?

Good idea. It would be the kind of reference thread that you'd want pinned to the top. Sometimes you can find the movie online, or an illegal upload somewhere, but sound samples would be the better solution. Until those labels start posting them.

My clip above comes from the end of L'oceano ci chiama, a 1957 documentary scored by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino. This score was released by Alhambra as a companion piece to their main program of Lavagnino's Soledad.
After multiple listens, I like L'oceano ci chiama much more than its partner because it sounds rather like an orchestral tone poem for the sea. It's now one of my Lavagnino faves.
I don't recall any vendor offering sound samples on it, so I placed into my 1st post above.
The ending is the closest I've heard Lavagnino approach an Alex North style of writing.
