Fantastic composer casting! Looking forward to hear what they can do in a presumably more "extrovert" landscape!

It does show they're open to taking chances.

Indeed. I love that kind of 'out of left field' casting.

Definitely excited for this one. One can't help but admire such bold casting.

I do wonder,.considering the film is about jazz, if someone like Terence Blanchard wouldn't have been a better choice. Still, very curious what Reznor and Ross will do with this one.

No doubt about it: this will either be the first Reznor/Ross score I like or the first Pixar score I dislike. No in-between.

Aw, crap.*

Look, I'm a huge score of electronic music and electronic film scores. But Reznor and Ross are just wildly overrated.

They usually have one cue from a score that is actually good. The "Sugar storm" from Gone Girl is a fine piece. Their Patriot's Day score had a good stolen-from-Tangerine-Dream cue but don't know the cue title. But otherwise, normally there's one track that sounds just like Tangerine Dream, and the rest is anonymous wallpaper.

Weird choice for a Pixar film about jazz.

I KNEW you'd say that!

Sure. But even if you dislike their work, aren't you at least mildly curious about what they can do for such an unsual (for them) project?

No. Hopefully they'll end replaced.

The soul has just been sucked out of this project.

The Negative Bastards are back.

And I'm not talking about Reznor/Ross, if anyone wondered.

Nope, because they are terrible film composers. However, I hope they completely blow my mind and make me eat my words.
