Wow! When I was so much younger and going religiously to the Hollywood Bowl to see Mauceri, I wasn't aware that I was watching archaeology at work. Indeed I had been to film music concerts before Mauceri but they were extremely few and far between AND practically the same dozen or so pieces. Thank you Maurizio Caschetto for an interview that sums up all those years of dazzling concerts I had witnessed. P.S. Also it heartens me to hear Franz Waxman talked about so much. Sometimes I feel he has fallen between the cracks.
